CL65 Wheels and slicks

I am wanting to get slicks for my CL65. Will 17 inch wheels clear the brakes? Is the factory wheel a 19x9.5 with -60 offset? How much backspace can I get away with?
My very first pass was a 12.15 @ 118 with 3500DA (IIRC) with a stock car. Traction next, then tuning. I'm thinking Mickey Thompson ET Street R.
Thanks!

Most people end up running 18" drag radials, but if I try and manage to get 17's top fit, I'll let you know. The factory size you have listed above is correct. A LSD will help with more consistant launches, tune and tires are a great place to start.

Thanks. I have a 17 inch wheel that looks like it will fit nicely. I'm waiting on the tires now so I can mount them and check clearance.

I have set of 17" rims that just barely clear the dust shield. I'd suggest doing a test fit of the rims before investing in tires too.

They fit with no trimming needed.
