advice on the N/A 6.2 V8
Hi,
Im currently looking at a few cars, CL63 is primary choice but ultimately im after the N/A 6.2L V8 so most variables are ok.
Ive done lots of research on these cars CL63/C63/CLS63 etc.. and seems there is no real common faults.
As these cars are relatively old now a lot of them are on the higher end milage wise, so i just wanted to ask you
guys if there is any noticeable things i should look out for when buying these engines/cars used?
The things i think im aware of:
notorious door handle problem
Engine running a bit hot and requiring some regular oil changes
unmatched tyres
oil hose leak
and sometimes the actuators.
Although these might not be common per se , they are the most common ones i can find people discussing online. Obviously a car from 07/08 is not going to be perfect
and might require some love, but i dont want to end up with an expensive lemon.
thanks in advance

Thanks ,
What am I checking for? I've done lots of work on cars in my life but admittedly not engine work. Am I looking for corrosion or just play?

Look up your VIN, if your engine is affected. There's a dedicated thread
https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...rly-2011s.html
If your new car's engine is affected, check if it had been done already or prepare for the job - it's a bit specialized if you have never done any engine work. The cost could be anywhere between $1-5k USD depending on the shop.

Thank you so much!
As I haven't bought the car yet is there a way to visually see if A) it's effected or B) has had new bolts?
Of course where possible I'll get the vin and check , but I was wondering if there are any symptoms to look out for .

I haven't had this engine - I jumped from M113 directly to M157 because of this issue so I can't tell what symptoms to look for.
Good luck and let us know!
