This might seem like a silly question, but I only have a scissor lift and was trying to lift the CL with it. However, the arms on the scissor lift are not that long and are at the maximum reach trying to reach the rubber pads under the door sills on each side. Is there any other place (some place on the frame) where you can lift the car up from? I've looked under the car but the whole thing seems to have belly pans covering up everything.

I know I could just jack up the car but I want to get a bunch of maintenance done and putting the whole car up on the scissor lift would be easier.

I've used this lift many times before....but that was on regular cars where I could find the frame rails.

Has no one ever lifted their car up with a scissor lift? I imagine there must be some frame rails that run under the car besides the pads by the door sills. I guess I will need to remove all the belly pans and see for my self. If anyone has a picture of the Mercedes 215 frame that would help.

Not really, the car is unibody and the area around the jack pads is structural, that's why they are there. Why can't you use them if the arms will reach? They are the best place to lift the car from without damaging anything else.

Per my earlier post, the arms don't seem to reach when I center the car over the lift. It looks like it might be possible to get them to reach if I push the car forward, but then it seems that too much of the nose of the car is hanging off the lift and I'm worried it will tip. Does anyone know the weight distribution of this car? Seems like it would be front end heavy.

Well, I think I figured it out. I can use the pinch welds along the edge near the rubber lifting pads to lift the car. This is how most all regular cars are lifted so hopefully this should be ok for the CL65. I did do a test lift and all seemed fine.

If anyone knows that I shouldn't do this, please let me know.

Can't help you on the CL. I lift mine with a 4-post lift equipped with a rolling jack that fits the correct lift points.
I've seen a lot of other cars with bent pinch welds from being lifted by them though.

Sometimes there's a strong-point at specific lift zones near the pinch weld, but you are supposed to use a correctly shaped lifting pad that has a slot that the pinch weld drops into.
