03 CL55 Dim Xenon Low Beam Headlights

Has anyone had their Xenon healights become real dim over time or all of the sudden? I have replaced the bulbs with new ones and it did not help the issue. It makes it almost impossible to drive at night without using high beams and blinding oncoming traffic. All input is appreciated.

I would like to get rid of the Xenons with ballasts and go with an LED set up. Is there any conversion kits on the market?

Xenons get dimmer as they get older, just like any other bulb. If you have already replaced them with quality, brand name ones and you're still having issues, look at the ballasts next. Fix the issue and get a good set of bulbs like the Osram Xenarc or Phillips Xtreme Vision. Both are very bright.

There are replacement LEDs available but you'll get worse light output and will have trouble fitting them in the headlight housings (the back of them are essentially heat sinks, some with built in fans).

You are lucky you have a 2003 model. The 2000 to 2002 models are worse. Even the best bulbs do not improve the vision. Some owners upgrade to 2003 headlights, which require a $200.00 wiring harness to make it work.
