Soft door close repair/repair kit

I’ve seen couple threads on repairing the soft close actuator (#215-720-13-35) with mixed results/longevity. Has anyone used one of these repair kits?

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F391744492304

Half the price of new OEM replacement...deciding on the (3) options:
1) take apart of try to fix
-pro = lower cost/con = still time consuming and risk won’t fix
2) repair kit
-pro = half cost of oem replacement/con=same as repairing plus additional cost
3) oem replacement
-pro = will fix/con price (get what you pay for)

Any info on repair kit would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mick

I have a repair kit. didnt use it until now and i really dont know if to use it. i understood that the repair kit if very likely to brake again after a short period of time (maybe a few months).
Whats wierd in my car (have to mention ihave her only 3 weeks) is that neither both doors and trunk are not working. make me wonder if its not the kompressor faulty.

sounds like I may just buy new oem replacement

I would recommend you search about the central vacuum pump. I read several that had details about none of the doors or trunk working.

I am also considering buying a new oem part but i just understood that the door locking mechanism is different for cars with or without keyless go. Need to be investigated more!

About the central vaccum pump, wierd thing is that the massage and seat cussions works fine. I know that the central vaccum pump is also responsible for the seats cussions and massage. can it still be the central pump?

You are correct that that I believe the keyless go and non-keyless are difference. I may be mistaken that the vacuum pump for doors and trunk are same for the seats (that I am aware of)...again do some searching on subject. Regardless until you do testing of pump, fuses and relays.

Good luck

One pump for everything, door locks, rear headrests, all of it. So if some of it works, the pump is still alive. Reset it and see what doesn't work or leaks. You most likely have multiple leaks if several branches are down.
