Smile Hoping to buy 2009 or 2010 CL63

Hi all,

I am very interested in purchasing a 2009 or 2010 CL63. Are these cars fairly reliable? Are they very expensive to repair? What should I be looking for while viewing online listings of CL63's for sale?

In the past I've heard that the ABC suspension system is very expensive to replace but don't know how frequently they fail and how much they cost to repair.

Thank you in advance for any information shared!

m156 ENGINE, head bolts and lifters are major issues. NOT all of the M156 engines were affected, but make sure that these were somewhat addressed from previous service

Other than those, and ABC suspension, solid engine.

Again, a search would yield much more information. From what I've read on the forum over the years, I would stay away from the engine all together. Just too many issues. More than what was listed in this thread. The combo of that engine with ABC is a losing strategy without enough upside to make it worth while. Stick with the 600/65 or go with the 5.5L biturbo 63 engine. The biturbo V8 is a really great engine that is a tune away from 700 hp and a turbo swap from 900 hp.

If your interested in a M156 w216 get as much research done on the maintenance history. There is some good quality ones but dreams do come with nightmares. Regardless you going end up spending a pretty penny.

If possible get a extended warranty to cover some of the major components. So you at least have a safety net. Do your research, put money aside as a maintenance fund and get a extended warranty even if it's just covers transmission and engine. Rather safe than sorry.

I own a 08 CL63 got it for a good deal, great maintenance history and Suspension redone, Headbolts, etc.
