2014 CLA45 AMG
Weistec's awesome customer service

I wanted to take a minute and set the record straight on my car and my experience with Weistec.

In April I purchased a 2014 CLA45 with about 20k on it from a non MB dealer. I was told that it had a full exhaust system and everything else was stock. Everything was fine for a few months.

At about 4 months in I started to notice a stumble under certain conditions. To make a long story short I found out that I had bought a car that a member on here used to own and had all kinds of issues with it after his Weistec tune. I also fond that the mod list didn't stop at the exhaust. IT had weistec downpipe, ASV and ECU tune along with the Rebellion TCU, rebellion catback exhaust and colder spark plugs.

There are multiple threads on this site that refer to the issues that this car had.

I contacted weistec to see if the car needed a tune with the exhaust and ASV on it. They said that it shouldn't and then looked to se if it had already been tuned. Sure enough it had and they recommended sending my ECU in for a reflash. I did and when I got it back I installed it and the car wouldn't start. My initial thought was that the previous owner was right and that Weistec was a joke. What came next blew me away and showed me that they truly are a top notch company.

I explained that this was my wife's daily driver and that she needed the car next week especially since I was going to be out of town. They were able to clone a spare ECU and get it overnighted to me on a Friday so I could install it Saturday morning.

I installed the new ECU and my wife was never without a vehicle. However, still encountered the stutter issue. I asked about the spark plugs and they suggested ordering stock plugs. I did and when I changed them I noticed that all of the screw on caps on the plugs that were installed were loose. I installed the new plugs and now the car runs flawlessly.

I notified Weistec that all was well. They updated my ECU and sent it back to me.

There was a lot of emailing and phone calls back and forth that aren't detailed inn this post. Believe me when I say that Weistec has phenomenal customer service.

I paid $200 on the recalibration and there were no charges for anything else.

They did an awful lot of work for somebody who had never spent a dime there. I purchased a car that had their products on it and they stood behind them.

I really can't say enough good things about them. Hopefully this sets the record straight on this car.
