Just wanted to share a quick review of the TurboKits.com gauge pod for the CLA's
Im currently running two gauges (boost, A/F) on top of my steering column for lack of a better place. There is literally no where to place gauges in this car.
Here comes TurboKits.com to the rescue.
Originally, I did not want to use one of their vent pods for a few reasons. Turbokits was kind enough to send me a unit to test out for a few days so I could get a feel for it and im glad to say I have found my new gauge location.
The pod angels the gauge towards you so visibility is great and even though it takes up a vent the other two vents in front of the driver provide plenty of air.
The install is very simply. Mercedes says to use a special tool to pull the vent out but a simple clothes hanger with the end bent 90* did the trick.
The only tip you will need for the removal is to use lots of force. It is held in by 4 metal spring clips so you will have to yank on that sucker!
here are some pictures
Right now, the ring around the pod is silver while my original vents are black. TurboKits.com did send me the parts to fix this and ill update the thread with matching vents soon. http://www.turbokits.com/Mercedes-Be...uge_Pod_/2784/
more interested in seeing how you ran the boost connection in the engine bay.
i just tapped into one of the lines coming off of the intake manifold. if you need pictures, go to weistecs website and download the instructions for the BOV install. they have clear pictures in those instructions that show the vacuum line location.
