Gascap door failure; Mercedes Service
So I took my car in for warranty work, the gas door was failing off and on, I called to have the vehicle looked at after I had to remove the inner panel to release the gas door manually so my wife wasn't stranded. This is a common failure on CLAs and I have warranty left on the car. Despite multiple failures and the issue being a known problem(google it) they declined to replace the part. I took over an hour and half driving back and forth for nothing. Making it worse, I called another dealer....its a $73 list part and they offered it to me for $45. I asked my service adviser Bill if he had ever seen an electronics piece just get better....his response "Your keys are at the cashiers desk" $45 part and Mercedes wont stand behind it.....Mercedes of St Charles, Il WTH
