Current wait times for ordering
Apologies if this has been covered previously, but I have a friend who's interested in ordering a CLA 45 and was wondering a few things about the process.
- What have people experienced in terms of lead times to order one?
- I understand pricing is region specific, but have people generally been able to order them at MSRP or even less? He's in the Chicagoland area if that helps.
- Anything else to be aware of?

These cars are such low numbers that I really doubt you'd get a discount. The wait time is probably atleast half a year. The easiest way to get one soon and even have a hope of a discount is get a CLA45 that a dealer happens to have in stock.

I originally placed an order for a CLA35 in January, my dealer had an allotment for the third decade of May. They also had a CLA45 allotment for that same period.
In March I changed my order to the CLA45, I had a tentative build date of June 16th. Currently, I have a PO number but no VIN number so my build is delayed.
My car is now listed as factory delayed. My guess is I'm looking at a July build which I'm cool with.
Concerning price… I live in SC. My local dealer was the only dealer not wanting to charge a market adjustment to the CLA45.
I was quoted between $3K to $6K add-on, and that wasn't firm, it would be based on market-rate based on time of delivery… no thank you!

I ordered mine in December with an April build date. Not long after April slipped to May. May came and went and I just got an updated build date of June 21. I won’t hold my breath.

I ordered mine in late December with a March build date. It got built in May and just arrived at port in Baltimore Sunday. Waiting to hear from dealer when it will arrive there for collection.

Update on my timeline. Dealership contacted me today to say that the car was built, so June 21 was spot on. Now it's sitting in Hungary waiting to be assigned to a ship. I'm anticipating late August arrival.

I assumed a 22 - but I didn't ask. When my sales rep calls me back with shipping details - I'll ask.
I'm so excited to be getting closer.
Slightly off-topic—I went ahead and put my Mustang GT up for sale after learning my 45 was built.
My rationale was I'm going to sell privately and not budge on my price—I had a bidding war happen within 24 hours.
And my girl leaves with a new owner today.

Good call… I like the Gville, NC Bucs - but I live in THE Gville, SC.
I actually went to Furman (so I'm a Paladin) Go FU!!!!
My guilty pleasure is Pirates. I've actually built my consulting side-business around modeling aspects of Pirate democracy.
Trying to come up with a Pirate Ship name for my 45.
I'm leaning towards… MetalStorm

Well seeing how it's pretty much July now... any car order being processed now probably isn't going to be built this summer anyways.

Mine was built this week and the VIN IDs it as a 22

My VIN is also for a 22.
Thanks to a fellow MbWorld member I was able to see my complete build order.
I received my complete build order no deletes.
Two of my packages are Lite packages; Multimedia Package and the AMG Dynamic Plus Package Lite.

Thank you! this gives a much better idea of when to expect my car. Basically I am asking because my build got pushed to MY23 (informed about this ~two months ago), my lease has ended (extended for now) and have this and a w206 c43 on order. I was hoping the CLA might beat the C43 - but I already have a PO for the C43 and not for the CLA45.
I think there may have been delays because of the C43/SL43 pre production cars, etc. Not sure. I truly think you may have one of the last couple of MY22 leaving the factory. Obviously, can't be too sure.
