CLA 45 S Coming to the US
#3
I’m glad we are finally getting the S model. Interestingly the performance 0-60 is unchanged. Judging by the performance of the regular CLA 45 AMG being the same and trapping at 114 in the 1/4 I’m thinking both models have the 416hp for some reason they just under report it on the non S. I have not seen any difference in straight line performance between the two.

When do y'all think dealerships are gonna start taking 2024 orders or release the order guide? Looks like the last few were released in early June 2022 and March 2021 both by @Eaton. Also, do y'all know of any other forums to follow for the 2024 CLAs?

The new 2024 CLA Coupe will arrive at U.S. dealerships later in 2023

Ngl. I’m a bit disappointed by the center console change. Although I’m sure I’d never use it, it is nice to have those buttons. Also it looked better than whatever the new thing is supposed to be. Not a huge fan of the new wheel either. I feel like it’s too thick. Hopefully this one isn’t as thick as the new SL’s wheel…

I like how the headlight dot part looks like part of the amg logo (the part before the word "amg"), which results in a more sportier vibe as a result. The headlight also looks similar to the GT 4-door and I realized something, is it just me (probably just me...) were the taillights inspired by the Supra's headlights?
With this car being lighter and smaller and more powerful than the W206 C 43, this might not be a bad option at all to consider for those who are shopping the W206 C 43. I also like the fact they kept the physical buttons for the seat controls (although I expected that because that was what was seen on the facelift W177 A-Class and the fact this is just a facelift and not an all new generation).

As you already know, that side by side design Mercedes had it first, I believe since the W222 was first introduced then it trickled down to their other models, now a lot of electric vehicles from various competitors (car manufacturers) have this type of design. German competitors wise, BMW have it on their facelift cars. I too prefer this over the one in the new C-Class and S-Class.

I still think it’s cool that is is coming to the US though. Makes me wonder if I should have waited to buy, but I’m guessing these are going to be hard to find in a spec I like and then there will be the issue of markup.

I agree with this. I think it was because the USA regulations. Its not the first time the Benz has released the different version in the USA. Now Mercedes can easily mass produce for everyone the S version.

Like I mentioned the performance quoted in the original article is the exact same as the 382hp model. The trap speeds for the non S were also recorded at 114mph. Someone who is much more knowledgeable than me would be able to elaborate but based on the vehicles weight and trap speed it is making way more than the claimed 382hp. I have yet to see any difference in straight line performance between the S and non S CLA 45 AMG. For reference my stock Focus RS had 350hp and trapped around 103mph. The CLA 45 AMG feels much, much faster and it’s not just because of the automatic. It pulls noticeably harder in gear. I’m not convinced there is any difference in output between the CLA 45 AMG “382hp” and the CLA 45 AMG S 416hp other than what MB is claiming. Not sure why they under report it, maybe to nudge people to the S.

Better late than never, MB Canada also posted the information on the new facelift and too confirmed (as you would expect) that the CLA 45 S is coming to Canada as well: https://media.mercedes-benz.ca/relea...cedes-benz-cla
