Excuse my ignorance, but I've seen these on other tuner cars around here.... What do you use them for? Pulling the car out of the ditch after you crash?

Yes, at the track if you get stuck so it can get pulled right away.

That explains it,... around here if you're in the ditch, there will likely not be any bumpers left....so they'd just hook on to what ever is exposed! ; )

Some tracks require tow hooks so they can clear crashes quickly.

It may protect you from somebody cutting an improper turn. They'll have a nice pinstripe rather than both of you exchanging paint information lol

There appears to be a colored bezel around your HID lens? Is that headlight different than the CLA45AMG light HID? The CLA45 I saw in NYC last month did not have this, at least you can't pick it up in any of my pics...

It's because he has the Edition 1. They have red accents that differ from the regular A45.

I wouldn't put the hook unless I am racing the car and really needs to be pulled off. In that event, I would simply call Mercedes 1800 to have it tow for free or have my insurance company towing it.

It is like putting the bulls plastic ***** hanging from the rear bumper, you see my point?

Looks very good. I think it would likely be quickly stolen if left installed, so you might want to allow it to sleep in the glove box when you're not racing.

In city driving it helps with people parking and backing into you - they will hit the hook instead of damaging your bumper

Is there a difference between a regular cla45 and an edition1? I thought they are all edition1. What's the cost of this option?

In Japan Edition 1 comes with everything included in price. You can't choose options. It's like set car.

The just released the Edition 1 pricing and details in Canada. Basically it is a fully loaded CLA 45 (interior Carbon fibre, night package, Recaro seats, AMG drivers package included)....only thing missing is the AMG performance exhaust

However Edition 1 also includes a few slight differences - rear spoiler, side matte black graphics, unique black rims, red exterior accenting on grille and mirrors, as well as Edition 1 badging inside.
