race start video inside
Sure you guys have seen it and done it before. If not, check it out, fun stuff. This was with four adult men in the car.

Mine must need a tune. 4500 miles and today while entering the freeway from a dead stop and no traffic (6 AM) 0-50 i couldn't shake the Volkswagen GTI next to me. i was in S mode but had traction ON. Obviously lane breaks down to 1 lane and i don't drive dangerously so i pulled back but at 50 he was right next to me.
I was just very surprised. Does traction need to be off to get a quick start?
I've only done race start twice on a stretch of road without traffic. I won't use it in any type of traffic situation.

Race start requires a combination of factors:
Dead stop.
Manual mode.
Sport handling.
Braking.
Both shift paddles.
Select Yes.
Mash accelerator.
Release brake.
Assuming all you did was be in S and mashed the pedals, you're not going to get the same performance. However, you still should've been able to walk the GTI, if it were stock. If it were tuned, it'd be close.. APR claims near 300hp on the GTI from just a tune, and the GTI weighs a good 500 pounds less. Power-to-weight ratio at that point is pretty close.
