Manufactured Engine Sound in Sport Mode?

Was listening to Edmunds review, apparently the engine sound is "manufactured" in sports mode according to them, comes through the speaker system? Not sure how that works, I guess the sound level is the same no matter what your speaker volume is?
So many new things in cars.

I haven't tried sports mode yet but I remember the same in some reviews (I noticed it was reviews of other cars, too). It was a new concept to me. Was it impressive sounding? :)

Seems to be very common. My BMW had the same thing. It's pretty subtle. Never really notice it.

Yes, very impressive, kind of like a low growl/purr of the old roadsters, subtle but it's there.

Feel like an idiot now as I was telling salesman I loved the engine sound.

Ha, ha! Suppose you like the dual chrome tailpipes too! (they're fake also) :)

That would be funny :), they do mention that in many reviews so I knew long before I purchased. We might as well be driving virtual cars at this rate but I get the conflict between cabin noise and engine sound, most customers I guess prefer the former as important.

The sound is nice and I have noticed it only runs on D. So if you are on N and press the pedal you don't hear it.
