W169 A-class MPH Instrument Cluster / Speedo Display - convert from KM/H
 

If anyone is looking to convert a km/h speedo display to mph, for a B-class W245, or an A-class W169, imported into the US or Caribbean, from either Europe, Canada, or Japan - I have just the thing:

I bought a spare instrument cluster, just to get the B-class needles for my A200 - so have a few spare bits ...

The actual display faceplate is a [paper] thin plastic, and is very easy to fit.

No other modification is required - just remove the existing km/h face, and place the miles one on (it clicks in two places - around speed and RPM dials).

I will provide detailed instructions (from Mercedes WIS), for the removal of the instrument cluster.

No STAR session is required for this mod, no coding afterwards, and no battery disconnection.
As simple as it gets really.

How did you re-calibrate the meters after fixing.
In my case the needles do not rest at 0 when the cable is connected.

No need to re-calibrate anything: rotate needle counterclockwise to zero position, when fitting back - that's all there is to it.
