110K miles? Is that a typo? Is it suppose to be 11K miles? If not, that is a LOT of miles for this type of car. Kelly Blue book shows it's value under $20K for that many miles. What's your figure? Is this a clear title car & not salvage?

You are looking at the "trade-in" value of the car. The "retail" is around $37,000 and it has a clean title. If you are interested email me at gujurati03@aol.com

Thanks

$23 grand tops. 110k miles means no warranty and you can't buy one if you wanted to. People spend $20k+ on cars with warranties. It severely limits the risk. Modding it out also limits the number of potential buyers. Don't forget that more than double the normal mileage.

We own 10 cars and over half of them have under 100K and all of them are 2001 and newer. MI winters suck, most of them are stored for 6-7 months outta the year.

Since when did guju's own so many cars?

this is gay. so the guy drove his car? is this a reason to mock him? maybe some amg owners should drive their cars and not leave them in tha garage clean all day long. 15-20k a year is normal for me. best way to love your car? drive her

Agreed that the cars should be driven. In my case I have other cars that I drive daily as I live on brick roads and the 19's are a little harsh but nothing but pleasure on the highway.

To the point, I have a 2001 clk55 and I am south of 10,000 miles- I was told I should be very happy with 37,500 for my vehicle. It litterally smells new and is flawless. Not sure if this helps, gujurati03.

i have 110k miles on my clk320 and its fine. If you kept the interior fine, the car is good for another AT LEAST another 50k-60k miles without any topside engine work, depending on how it was maintained.

I agree completely. I'm driving my car and driving it hard whenever I can. If our cars were going up in value then I might reconsider. I can't get much more for my 02 C32 with 5k miles compared to another C32 with 15k miles.

I wouldn't expect to get big dollars for that many miles though.

I think it was less mocking and more amazement. I can't imagine racking up those kind of miles in a few years, and I visit family about once/month that's 500 miles away.

Sorry gujuranti03, but your not in touch with reality on this one. Even the HIGHEST priced value for a PERFECT car with that many miles FROM a Merc deaslership is $30,615 and that is being overly generious. The plain reality is that you can only get what any other party-to-party sale would generate. In this case, that is a MAXIMUM of #23,170 (according to the fellas at Kelly BB). If you take a look at Manhiem averages for that many miles, you are well under $20K. I sold a pristine 2001 CLK55 with 27,000 miles on it a little over a year ago for a little over $40K. It was still in warranty and had 1/4th the miles you have on yours. I marketed it for nearly 6 months in every RETAIL format possible (Including this site). I felt that the guy buying it from me at the time got a GREAT deal. I am a serious buyer of a car like yours (even with those EXTREMELY excessive miles, but would only pay market price for it. By Market I mean WHOLESALE of around $18K. Doesn't look like your interested in that now. If you are in the future, PM me and we will see what we can work out.

Unhappy I wish that it wasn't true, but the sad truth is that Ndabunka is right...

I have a flawless 2003 CLK55 with 21,000 miles that is loaded with every option short of distronic. It has COMAND, Keyless go, intergated phone w/ voice command, parktronic, bi-zenons, and sun shade. This car is literally in "concours" condition, if a 2003 can be considered as such, and I was told that my car had a trade-in, or wholesale value of $39,000. My car's lost 52% of its original purchase price in two years, and this on the current, two years newer CLK55 with less than 20% of the mileage...

As far as mods are concerned, they also, unfortunately add nothing to the value of a car, and in most cases actually detract value. Now if you had a complete Brabus conversion, that would be different, but as far as individually modded cars, it doesn't help at all...

Believe me when I tell you that I wish to Christ that Ndabunka and I were both wrong, and I'll gladly eat my words if you can prove us wrong, but unfortunately, the harsh reality is that the CLK55 must be the worst depreceiating AMG car. I'm finding nicely optioned W209 CLK55's for well under $50,000 (And bear in mind that these are asking prices!) whereas I can't find an E55, which was only slightly more than a loaded CLK55 for less than $70,000, and most are still closer to $80,000...

Now I know that every car short of a vintage Ferrari depreceiate, but I still believe that the CLK55's have an unusually high depreceiation, which is baffling because for one, it's a fantastic car, and they're pretty rare. All I know is that I doubt that I'll ever buy another AMG car. Not after this experience...

Best regards,
Matt

Let the man sell his car, I hate it when people chime in on how he should sell it, it's his car, not yours. Let him worry about it, just wish him luck... sheesh.

i dont any1 is trying to tell him how he should sell his car...but letting him know what to expect on the value of a car that has an average of 50k+ miles/yr on the clock, which is undeniably alot of miles for a $70k (base price new) 4yr old car...especially if claims he owns 11 other cars...

FYI: i had a daily driver i commuted 500miles & 150 more around town in a week a racked up 35k in 1yr...

BIN under $30K for 50% fewer miles

We do wish you success in selling but are simply trying to give you a realistic view of expectations. Unfortunately, this is the true state of the market. See this link for actual value. This car has 50% fewer miles than the one you are trying to sell.

I don't think he ever really threw out a price, just some figures anyone could pull up on KBB. If he took delivery in 2000 he really only averaged a little over 22k miles/year. I have a 4 month old E-Class with almost 8000 miles on it.

There is a saying that if it looks, smells and sounds like a duck...... It's probably a duck. With 11 cars with this much milage and not even considering reasonable offers, I think most here will agree with me that this guy smells, sounds and looks like a CAR DEALER!!!!
