Erik,

Do you have any better pics? I'm curious about the color.

Intersted, but looking for more info.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend - I know that HIDs 4 less invented that nonsense term. My beef is with them.

When I bought my kit (from another retailer) it cost me $350, was made and packaged by Hella and came in a choice of ANY of the 3 light colors they sell.

They included a single piece transformer/ballast, bulbs, and even a full relay set if I wanted to go the illigitemate way of installation (without having dealer turn it on).

This is why I have a beef with folks like H4l after all, their prices are 2x what the marketplace is going for yet the product is certainly not 2x as good. I don't understand what's so difficult about asking a dealer to turn on the HID function. To me it's worth $300 clams. That's half of an AMG brake kit!

I wonder if they would sell just the ballast and the special "box" then let you get your bulbs from another source. There is no reason to have to pay $200 just for a different color light.

I bought mine from a yahoo.com store that was running a group buy back in September. I don't remember the name sorry.

I've seen this kit sold in many different places, however, here is a place that sells it for $459...

http://shop.store.yahoo.com/speedrac...cokitxeli.html

I've seen it on ebay for as low as $300, and again with the group buy I was on for just over $350.

I've since sold my coupe, but still have the kit parts - two ballasts, two bulbs. If anyone wants them PM, me I'd like to get $275 for it if I could.

Thanks

One more thing, sounds to me like special box is just another load equalizer. I mean, what else would you have that would automagically make the error 'light bulb out' go away if you reduce the current draw with HIDs?

Same scenario as the LED bulbs we toyed with a while back.

So some of you might want to think on that for a while and come up with your own solution - or, stick large a$$ resistor making more heat in your engine compartment.

Peet, was your install hard for that Yahoo kit? Think you could walk us through the kit installation if we get the Yahoo one? Also, does anyone have pics of the purple Xenons?

The only thing your not realizing is the warranty...you get 1 year from most Ebay auctions, not sure about yahoo....they offer 5 from hids4less...and bulbs typically run in the $250 range, so one blowout and your covered...and in 5 years i am sure something will go wrong.

On a side note, for several reasons:
Group deal is off

Please don't ask me why, I have my own reasons. I suggest you contact them directly or have someone take over the group deal.

Thanks,
Erik

I am droping it for other reasons...honestly, I don't know what your guys problem is anyway...I said from the begining:

1. Its not my product
2. I am not making 1 penny off of the deal.
3. I have mine already, and I don't need a second set.

I was doing this becuase I was asked to by several members when I went to be the test car, but since i am not getting anything out of it I have no reason to put up with all this BS. So, in that case I have better things to do with my time then deal with something that will not effect me. All I am getting or will get is headaches...

See the original post where I became the test car...I really have nothing to do with the company or the product, so leave me alone about everything related to it! No more e-mails please!

On another note I have 2-3 products that are being developed as we speak...I will be the only one in the world with the product and it will not be easily copied and made cheaper...in that case I would be willing to put up with everything becuase it is worth it to me...as I am getting something out of it. I will have them made so I will know the quality and be able to answer all questions...

Look forward to W203 Sedan and Coupe White Faced gauges in the next several weeks!

Dayum man. I hope your panties didnt get in too much of a twist. People want to find out the best deal a out there, and know what they are getting. You got alot of emails, and headaches out of the whole ordeal, well welcome to being the leader of a group buy my friend. When you step up to the plate and become a leader of something like that, you open the door to the emails and headaches. Maybe the people on the forum will not want to put up with your BS and the white faced gauges. Don't be so quick to bite the hand that feeds you.

I understand all the headaches and such that go along with group deals...what I don't need is the E-mails I got on how "my" product is overpriced, ripoff, garbage, etc...I don't need to take that abuse nor do I need to waste my time. When the gauges come out if nobody buys it, so be it...I got my gauges done and I am happy.

Several people on the board have hids4less hids and nobody said one word, I bring you the same price hids they normally sell, but upgraded to work for the mbs and people still complain...honestly I don't care...go elsewhere, it doesn't effect me one bit.

The mistake i made was to try and set something up for a product i did not make and for something that i wasn't going to benefit by doing....so I have 0 motivation, and the more people yelled at me, the more I felt I don't need to deal with it.

So...for the people that thought it was overpriced...now its even more overpriced...

for the people that wanted them, I am real sorry, but i suggest you try and set something up yourselves since you guys will be the ones to actually see something out of it.

Next time people should really read and listen when I say its not my product/pricing/etc and I would have been more then happy to set it up...but I will not put up with those kind of e-mails and not get anything out of it...

Thanks, I will...
This is not directed towards you...but...

People, please STOP e-mailing me. I cannot lower the price, I cannot explain how to modify your HID system, I am a common idiot when it comes to electrical devices. Seriously, I cannot stress this enough. Even after the above 4 or 5 posts I am still getting e-mail.

Again, to recap for our slower friends:

1. I am no longer doing this group deal.
2. I do not make the products.
3. I don't know how to modify a stock HID kit
4. E-mail or call hids4less for pricing and purchasing
5. I cannot change the price, I have no influence

Thank you in advance,

Erik

i had the same experience.. my CLK came with stock halogens... and today, I installed the OEM Xenon headlights (entire assembly) and it works just fine without any malfunction errors or anything...

i thought it was odd too, cause other members were saying that i would still have to go to the dealer to set the xenon to present.

Having met Erik, I can vouch for that.

Honestly, anyone who gave him sh*t about this product are either idiots, a$$holes, or both. I don't understand at all why you'd do that to someone who's simply informing people about a product that's not even theirs.

Grow up, please.

This is most likely because the Factory Bi-Xenons on my MY03 are Hella Xenon lights. I would assume that MB uses all Hella Xenon's at least in the C-Class, maybe the whole line-up, so then the DAS recognizes them and that would be why they work so well.

Yeah but on a stock Xenon, the DAS must still be enabled...

I figured that, I was just stating it for the people who may not know what manufacturer made the stock ones.
