New HID kit Group Deal Pricing....no need for dealer Xenon setting!!!

I will explain the group buy and the retail price for the kits.
For the 'Mercedes Edition' retail price:
Stage 1 (4300k): $599
Stage 2 (6000k): $799
These are the only kits on the market that do not require a dealer to change your system settings....no special tricks either, use your lights as usual!
Now, for the group deal pricing:
Stage 1 (Mercedes Edition): $500.00
Stage 2 (Mercedes Edition): $700.00
Stage 1 (Regular): $400.00
Stage 2 (Regular): $550.00
I have included the regular kits, if you have another car you want to HID or you have friends you want to let into the deal that doesn't have a newer MB.
We need 10 kits to sell at this price, and we are looking at a 4-6 week wait (on the MB edition kits) since the kits need to be manufactured.
Anyone in NY, NJ area is more then welcome to meet me and view the lights/setup in person. Trust me these are amazing.
Any questions, please post.
Thanks,
Erik

The MB edition will bypass your computer so the car still thinks its halogen.
This way you don't need to have a dealer set you "Xenon Present" setting and you dont need to wire you HIDs to a seperate switch or anything like that. No error or malfunction codes come up.
This is perfect if you lease or want to sell the car stock. (And for those who are having a hard time finding a dealer to set 'Xenon Present')
These group deal prices bring the MB edition kit at the same price of the normal kit retail....

Is the bypass just a fat resistor in a heat sink? That's fine if it is. I just want to know if there will be anything that I have to worry about as far as placement of something hot like that.
Thats my guess! It makes perfect sense. If I could figure out how much resistence the resistor needs to be I would go buy a cheap HID kit and try it myself. Does anyone know how to figure out how much resistence is needed to take 55w's down to 35w's?

The testing took over 4 hours...with several tries in and out...

It's the other way around. You want to make the 35w load look like 55w. But that would suck up even more power at initial light off. So some delay of the additional load would be nice. But like tifosiv122 said it may be more than just a resistor. I'm not trying to ruin his group buy. Just trying to understand the product.

Actually, wouldn't mind taking you up on that sometime, if you're serious.

What exactly is the difference between the MB kit listed on their website and this one? Do you know? Pricing on their website is the same as your groupbuy.

c class 279 - Yes, the normal ones will require you to go to a dealer.
Basically the normal ones are modified to work with the MBs. There are several parts added to the kit, plus about an hour or so labor per kit (on their end). So the fact that the retail price for the MB kits are only $100 more is very cheap IMO. So what the deal is, is that those who buy now get the MB kit at regular kit prices and as an extra bonus, those who don't need the MB kit can save as well on regular HIDs.

Here's my experience.... If you use the Hella balasts there is no need for resistors or a DAS setting mod. I've installed the kit with Hella blasts, from AutoToys.com in 2 benzes that have a DAS setting for xenons. Both worked without having to make a DAS setting change. I think the kit was only around $450...
Erik

So in theory, if I just get their regular kit stage II ($550) and take it it to my DAS change friendly dealership they'll work and I'll save some cash? It seems to me this kit is aimed for those that can't get anyone to activate Xenon present. Whereas, if you can get it activated, you might as well get the normal kit?
Erik

If you do a quick search on the board, some paid as much as $150 to setup the computer while others were able to get it done for free. Some people could not find a dealer that would be willing to do it at all.

What gives. Lame.

What's with the stage1 stage2 crock o doodoo? It's just a different D2S or D2R bulb. And in the case of going beyond around 5000K it's just blue glass wrapped over the gas envelope!
What gives. Lame.

c class 279 - I will start taking money as of late next week. From then, once 10 orders are placed, the normal HIDs will ship out right away.
