Im very interested in picking one of these up because theyre going for great prices right now. My question is how would you rate the reliability of these cars? When are the schedualed maintenaces and how much are they? What kind of life expectancy can I expect. The ones im looking at around 75k. I need the car to last 3 years while im in law school and not make me broke. Its such a pretty and comfortable car, but i just wanna make sure its practical too.

Watch out for cheap early model CLKs..."there's no such thing as a cheap MB." Some of them are really reliable and some aren't (somewhat common transmission issues). Something small going wrong can end up costing a lot to repair. Try to get something 2000 or newer if you can.

be ready for some moderate initial repairs, i put a few thousand into mine right off. but i bought it on ebay. it has been great ever since.

Just turned 70k on my 99 with no problems so far. Changing brakes and rotors this week. Prices have come down quite a bit and you may want to look at a 430.
