All out of ideas (00' CLK 430 Trunk)

I have been trying to get into my trunk now for 2 days straight. I have my bag for work locked in there and I can't get it out, I have had to take off work because I can't get my bag out of the trunk. I first thought it was the cold weather, so after trying lock thaw, a blow dryer and multiple other ideas, I still can't get in the trunk. My mechanical key wont go in the lock all of the way, so I can't unlock it manually. My seats are locked up so I can't pull them down and take my bag out. I checked the fuses under the hood for the trunk release and they are all in working order. After spending about 10 hours of time, I still can't get my trunk open, any suggestions or idea's would be more than appreciated, thanks in advance.

I'm guessing you already tried the remote. Cant you just unlock the doors and push the button on the trunk?

I have of a similar situation and it stemmed from things jamming the lock. If one of the straps on your bags got into the lock mechanism when it was shut, then it could have jammed your trunk shut. If the button isn't working, then I would advise taking it to the dealership. Don't advertise it as a major problem or they're more apt to charge you for the fix. Just mention that you were on your way to work and noticed you could not get into the trunk and let them try and get it open for you. Best of luck!

Read your manual: call MB USA Roadside assistance. I had this same scenario and they were out within 2 hours at no cost. Good luck.

Not another defective trunk lock!
Hate to say, when mine stopped working, he accessed the trunk by busting out a tailight and getting in that way somehow. He changed the lock. No problems since....

Well I tried everything under the sun. I took it to the dealership and after them having it for 2 days now, they finally busted out the tail light and had to un-latch my rear seat and climb through there and release the trunk. So far the bill is $260 and they are saying that the part where the mechanical key goes needs to be replaced, that part is $320 and then they are going to charge the labor. I might just leave it as is for now, I don't feel like spending $700 on this trunk. Anyways, thanks for all the suggestions and advice, i'm pretty dissapointed in this situation. There was no real explanation for why this happend, I guess the trunk was closed to hard they said and it siezed up the lock? Pretty lame if you ask me, I guess I am a victim of circumstance... anyways, thanks again everyone, take it easy.

That sucks. Tailights are always for sale on Ebay so you can get one cheap there. Seems like the CLK trunk locks are recall material.
