I drove the CLK500 today
I also drove a 2002 CL55 (CL not CLK). That is a machine that will get your attention! It had every comfort imaginable and was a rocket to boot. Keyless go is awesome, so are pulsating seats.
I drove both cars with ESP off (as I frequently do my own) and manually shifted
. The ESP/BAS system masks the true performance of these cars. It was really noticeable on the CL55 - still kicking in and limiting performance even after I switched it off. Damn annoying. For such a goofy looking car, the CL55 was a major freaking blast. The CLK was "fun".
Big, bold, arrogant, comfortable, not sporty and not exactly sleek/smooth looking.
I love CLs...
I wonder if the motor from a CL55 would fit in my CLK430...Hmmmmm. I'm going to start watching salvage auctions!
