I'm planning to install #1 spring pads on the bottom of the spring because I want to raise up the car a little to install some larger wheels. Reason being because my springs are cut and already have the biggest spring pads on top. All I need is another half inch or so to fit these wheels. You might ask why don't I go and buy some new springs...I don't want to because believe it or not my car rides excellent with my cut Brabus springs with Koni shocks. And another question would be why am I only using the #1 pad...the reason for that is because when you put a # 1 pad at the bottom it sits different because the bottom of the spring is different and actually gives you 2 fingers of hight instead of 5mm.
I've seen this done to many cars but before I go do it I would like to hear of anyone actually having a problem doing this because I haven't met anyone who has. Is it a myth that...
THE SPRINGs WILL POP OUT
? Can anyone tell me a real story of this happening to someone they know? I would love to hear from anyone before I go and have this done this week. Thank you.
