Who has put aftermarket navigation in their car? I have an 01 and I want to get something like the eclipse avn 5500 for my car but I want to know how hard it is to install. Has anyone put a double din in their clk? How hard is it to do and can you see any mods you need to make "behind the scenes"?

i just ordered a pioneer avic-d3....i wudn b able ta help u wit the installation tho since ima get it professionally installed....i think it needs a sort of custom install tho since it doesnt perfectly fit..think its slightly smaller but ill c tommorow..it shud b here tommorow and im guna take it strate to get installed tommorow while im at work..ill update ta let u kno how it is...

hey..i got my avicD3 put in today n it fits well and everythin is goooood....they jus had to put like a lil border around it to make it look a lil better...they put it in for 150+tax and did the bypass n all....

ill take pics tommorow or somtin if u want..

honestly dont know..its jus like a lil cheap peice of plastic or somtin that they just seemed to cut to size and then stik on around it...ima prob get that changed out eventually tho...

ima prob end up doin the carbon fiber interior like freddy (acb3nz) did somewhere along the road...so ill jus have him c/f out that little peice too...

how do u hook up the navi to the buttons on the steering wheel so it controls the volume, or can u?

Dont think you could hook it up to the steering wheel controls
there is a company workin on that but i have since forgot the name...
someone on the boards should know though - hopefully someone who does see's this post.
