Mazda 3 speed
Clk430
Hey everyone I’m hoping to start my first car with the Clk430 any tips or things I should prepare for ice heard alot of good and bad things about benz most the older models, I’m going tomorrow to check it out the only issues the current owner knows about is the abs sensor not working and needing to use some hydraulic fluid, new here!

Check all electrics are working, soft top operation if cabriolet, interior door handles are a weak point, interior plastic trim, if fitted with aftermarket radio you will have to set the clock by disconnecting the battery at midday. Rocker covers and breathers covers are prone to leaks but easy fix. If over 100,000 klms make sure gearbox oil has or will be changed. Check engine mounts are OK by holding on brakes and Rev in reverse and drive. Engine should only rock slightly.

Great Choice. The M113 engine and 722.6 transmission are pretty much bullet proof. The engine is prone to rear Main seal leaks with age. The transmission may leak at the connection pin. When cold you may hear valve ticking. Never use the center cup holder. The gear selector will short out of liquid gets into it and put the car into limp mode. Only major issue is rust. Check the car throughly for rust.
