Here's a nice item up for bid for anyone looking to buy some wheels. I think it is a nice find because the lips are chrome and not machined like the rest of these wheels when you find them.

They look good in the pics but I would really check with the guy to confirm they are chrome. Most if not all replica's that came in black face had a polished lip.

Either way if the price is right they look great!

ya i bid on these...

Wheels look like(polished) stainless lip. Big problem with the fronts. These are for next gen (209)CLK. Offset is 38. Its pushin the max, 35 is safe for a 208. You might have to roll your fenders on a dropped ride. Check it out before you bid.

I just posted this for who ever is in the market for wheels at a possible cheap price.

38 offset works fine for the front with an 8.5, just cant put a 245 tire on there or it will hit the upper ball joint nut.

very true....I used to have 40 on mine! just have to use a smaller tire (rubber band) haha

I have the exact same wheels and measurments on my w208 and have no problems. so there not just for w209's.

Yeahyawh you could run 38's. Even 40's.. But drop it (2" or more) and clearance will definitely be an issue. Lowered, improves ride and drop dead look. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...IMG_0052_2.jpghttp://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...IMG_0051_2.jpghttp://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...IMG_0049_2.jpg

your rims are stainless steel lip ? is it noticably different than chrome lip ?

x15jq Jun 29, 2007 04:21 PM

Hey I have run a lot of different rims on my clk about 6 different sets. The highest offset I had was 38 and the lowest was 25 when it was NOT lowered.

All I can say is higher offset is better in the front on a slammed car, so it doenst hit your fenders. I had my cabrio SLAMMED up until last season, and I ran 38 offsets no problem

no they are chrome. there is quite a difference between chrome and stainless steel.
-the stainless steele is more durable, doesn't scratch as easy as chrome.
-stainless is a lot more expensive then chrome.
-generally speaking, your find stainless used on more 3-piece wheels, rather than one piece.

so if you are wondering will someone be able to tell the difference between the two and ask you about it, yes if they know wheels they will.

The 38mm offset definately won't clear the brakes on a 55. The need to be 32mm (in the front). Just some info if anyone wants to put them on a 55.
