I tinted my windows in San Bruno.
Place is called King Tint. He charged me $250 for 5 windows. I got 35% 3M tint all around.

The guys name is Douglas. If you decide to go to him, you can mention Jessica with the CLK referred you.

Mention TINTDUDE to receive a 10% discount

This place is supposed to install Huper Optik tint. It'll cost you a fair bit (around $500 i think) but it is superior to any other tint you can get out there.

Do a search on Huper Optik ceramic tint vs. regular metallic tint and you'll find out about the benefits... no radio reception loss, much better heat rejection (even with less tint %), etc...

500 Dollars??

A tints a tint IMO, you shouldn't pay 500 dollars just for a tint, that's asking a little too much.

Thumbs up Omega Tintwerks is really excellent

I just got my daily driver tinted by Vince last week. His girl friend has a CLK55 that looks just like mine so he knows our cars well.

His work is just excellent. I am going back to get a clear bra done on my exotic and I am looking forward to it. He is one man shop but the shop is neat and clean. He has been doing this for a long, long time and he has a great reputation. He is meticulous and guarantees his works lifetime. Do a Google search on “Omega Tintwerks” and you will see good comments.

I highly recommend Omega Tintwerks.

A tint isn't just a tint.

That'd be like saying a car is a car. Sure, a $30K Ford Mustang performs just as well and will get you from A to B just like a $60K CLK.. so why are we all driving CLKs?

There's too much to explain, if you care to look into it google is your friend; but in a nutshell:
Semi-metallic tints (Solargard, Sungard, Suntek, Madico, 3M, Llumar) are made with a semi-metallic layer sandwiched between layers of colored film.
Ceramic tints (Huperoptik, V-Cool) are made with ceramic particles sandwiched between the layers of film.

Reduction in VLT is the same for both types.
Reduction in UV light is same for both types.

Ceramic tint rejects solar energy and IR waves, whereas semi-metallic rejects and absorbs. Ceramic tint usually rejects about 10-20% more solar energy compared to metallic.

Semi-metallic tints are known to cause wavelength interference with glass mounted antennae and GPS antennae. This is because of the metallic particles within the tint. Ceramic doesn't have this problem.

For the record, I have Solargard HP38 (front) & HP6 (rear) on my car.. I personally can't justify the extra expense of ceramic tint because 1) I don't have a glass mounted antenna and 2) I usually keep my car parked in the shade/undercover so no need for the extra heat rejection. The only reason I have tint is for privacy.

5 bills on tint is an absolute waste of money. Who gives a rat's a$$ about UV, vlt, ceramic, blah blah blah.

$180-$250 for ALL windows except the front windshield is the going rate in the bay area.

this is amazing, that's still alot for a "Tint" what in the world are these ridiculous tint job prices, just a good local tint shop down over here will get PROFESSIONAL tint done for 100 bucks or less! ALL WINDOWS (Including Front WS, that's if you want)

A tint is a tint
