sick430 12-13-2007 06:25 PM

thnx for the advice. okay so the chrome ones are out the pic, the second ones have a offset of 45 and 19's would i need to purchase spacers, i saw on one thread that clk's have an offset of 35, does that mean the rims wont fit, theres also another set i was looking into on craigslist they are:

Brand: Flaken Torque 5
Bolt Pattern: 5X100 32 offset
Wheel Size: 19"
Color: Gunmetal with polished lip
Tires: 215/35/r19 85w

You might want to double check the bolt pattern on all those wheels.

omar26 12-14-2007 03:05 PM

hey thnx for informing me about the bolt pattern from what i read on the other threads i believe the 5 x 100 wont fit and the 5x 114 will be unsafe. thnx i didnt know about clk's being 112mm

DevilsAngel 12-14-2007 06:09 PM

Out of all 3 of those wheels you showed, I would go still with something like 2nd pic.

omar26 12-14-2007 06:32 PM

yea thats what im leaning twoards, anybody know any good website to find rims made specifically for clks

da_guitarist 12-14-2007 10:33 PM

2nd pic is good. just search for wheels from audi's, vw's or mb's. they're all 5x112. check offsets tho. 8.5 front and 9.5 or 10 rear is good. both offsets are near 35 mm. i think 30-35 is safe for either...

da_guitarist 12-14-2007 10:34 PM

and the 1st ones are gross. the 2nd ones are nice, but i think the spokes might be a little too thin for our clks.

omar26 12-15-2007 01:05 AM

thnx for the info guitarist

we're not all rich here guy!! :D;)

check out www.sevaswheels.com for 19s. The S Stars are like a grand for 19s and the S22s or S55s look nice on CLKs too. I personally am waiting for a set of 20 inch (19 inch tires=ridiculous price tag + would require a lowering kit) S22s in black. For some reason only the West coast get them in color. Of course they do have the silver ones in stock at a discount :bs:

imphaded 12-16-2007 01:09 AM

lol i wish i could rebuy my first set.. spent like 5 grand with tires on lowenharts.. i should have just got some 20 inch sevas.

omar26 12-16-2007 01:57 AM

okay after doing some research i figured i needed rims with 5x112 with a 35mm offset, i saw these rims on ebay one set is 20in i know alot of people sick with the 19's but if i dont lower my car will these 20's cause any problems, i saw the rims opal w208 had and wanted something sort of close to his his are 5 spokes theses are 7 spokes but close enough, the other set is 19 with 5x112 35mm offset 19x8.5 F, 19x9.5 R

I would go with the "19 they look nicer than the other one. I am not a big fan of the black rims

omar26 12-16-2007 07:45 PM

i was leaning twoards the silver ones too, but would it be an issue if i went with silver color of those 20's

19's on a CLK? Will the suspension handle it? The 18's I have look like they are just about the max. One of my other cars is on 19's (running a 275/30R19 on the rear) and frankly.. it looks silly, plus they produce more leverage on the suspension than it was mengineered for (the MFG allows up to 18's on the specific model/year I have).

19's might look sort of nice but make sure you really check out a car that has them in person, look at it form a number of different angles and then take a drive in it. Really take a drive in it and make sure the wheels don't handle the car instead of the other way around.

Here's a set of 19's on a car that came with 16's from the factory. It's my car and I really enjoy it but fankly I think the wheels make it look a bit silly. I just wish my 18's were not so trashed, and so stock. LOL

the majority of members on here who change their wheels run 19s...i went with 18s because of jersey's ****ty roads tho...

The more I read the more I'm reading about 19's and 20's I can't imagine what 20's would look like on the small wheel wells of the W208 LOL.

I have some crappy TSW's that came on the car. When the winter is over I'll be looking for some sweet new wheels... probably 18's. The other problem I have with the 19's on my 911 are the cost of the tires and how difficult is to find the sizes I need. 18's seem a heck of a lot easier to come by and of course there is the matching reduced cost.

Go with my mine...:)

Believe me... I've been thinking about it. :y

Mr Pie 12-30-2007 07:38 PM

I have 19s on my w208 and, yes it is a little rougher of a ride, but 18s will still look good. I was going to go with 18s but I got a really good deal on a set of 19s. I got the chrome set of 19s for the price of brushed 18s I was looking at. Of course, the rubber is where all the expense is. :)

Good luck on which ever one you go with.
