Help...Need advice on Springs

I recently pruchased a 1999 CLK 320. Everything on it was stock. Overall I initially wasn't that impressed with the handling. The first step for me was to install a nice set of rims. I purchased and installed a set of 2/5 Carlson. They look great, but the ride is a little harsher than before... especially on the s*itty streets of Boston. So at this point I need to install some springs. I need your advice as to which springs I should choose. Basically I am not looking to race the car or have any harsher a ride... I just want the car to react better and not ride like a Lincoln Mark 8 which is basically how it feels to me right now.

Thanks for your input... I am open to any and all suggestions.

I installed HR sport springs on my CLK-430, the car droped around 1.4" and looks good and the ride was definitelly stiffer than original, before I installed adjustable koni's.

H&R cup kit, best bang for the buck. Lowerd the car and it is just a tad stiffer than stock, plus it handles a lot better!!!

H&R springs w/ bilsteins... or kleeman suspension is the best.

I have eibach springs and bilstein shocks...it is a nice drop (I have 19's) and the ride isn't very harsh...I got the eibachs and the bilsteins because I heard they are the least harsh.
