19''s

Im hearing mixed opinions on putting 19'' on my 01 clk 430.
Can I get any opinions from this board and or suggestions of rims, offset, tries etc
Thanks guys

Plenty of people have put 19's on their car on this forum. Plenty of people have not experienced any problems as well. I personally have 19X8 in front and 19X9.5 in the rear with no problems. I also have a stock ride height but plenty of people have lowered their cars with 19's and did not report any issues in ride quality etc. Just make sure you go to a reputable shop who will test fit the wheels you buy. That's important.

ive had 19s on previous cars not on my clk yet but one thing i should stress is camber and tire size cuz oh man depending on where you live it could be the death of you lol. good luck and fill us in when you decide on your setup

i am running 19X8 and 19X9.5 and love them. going to run 17X9.5 front and back only because i need the traction for canyon driving.

I have 19's also with 275 for the rear tires. I have no problems at all.

19s on my CLK aswell... ET 35 and you should be fine!

ZEEK Apr 22, 2008 09:23 PM

angel, how are you running 275s on teh back? my 265s are rubbing. damn

sfclk Apr 22, 2008 09:29 PM

would 17's or 18's perform better?

i'm guessing for V8, 18s would perform best and V6s 17s would perform best.

ZEEK Apr 22, 2008 09:33 PM

i think you would be fine even with 18s.

They run quite nicely. Haven't had any rubbing problems until just last week when I hit a side step that fell off a truck, which that threw off my alignment and canmber and now the right rear tire rubs the inside of my bumper. But before that no problems at all. My car is also lowered with Eibach springs which isn't that big of a drop. Course I plan to get 20's here hopefully in a couple weeks, so then I know I'll have rubbing problems.

I also run 275's in the back. I don't rub unless I hit a real big bump or if I corner REALLY hard then it will just rub the inner plastic a little.

No problems here im running 19x8.5 in the front 19x9.5 on the rears blackbenzz is running 19x10 on the rears and he also has no problems.

So my advice to you is get 19's for sure.

ZEEK Apr 24, 2008 01:35 AM

i am running 19x10 also on the rear and they rub on the bumps. THey will rub on small bumps as well if i have someone in the back.

Before putting my wheels on, my alignment was a little off, and i never got my wheel alignment done after the wheels either. Do you guys think i should get it done now? Dealer or regular mechanic should be able to do it?

hey guys, post pics of your 19 inch wheels on your stock clk suspension!
