Help diagnosing this one please
I was driving on the freeway this weekend. I hit a large deep pothole doing about 55 on a curved offramp with the steering wheel turned.
Now I have a really loud noise coming out of my right front wheel. Its making a rubbing sound like the tire is flat and I get a rough scraping noise on every revolution of the tire. The noise is even louder when I'm making a left turn. When I got home, there's a strong burning smell as well. Also, my steering wheel is now way off center (to make the car go in a straight line steering wheel is turned like you're making a left). This pot hole was hit so hard, I'm surprised the tire is not blown and the rim did not shatter. However, I lost some air (might still be losing air). I'm thinking the wheel bearing is probably shot, but thats just a guess. Anyone wanna take a stab at diagnosing the problem(s). I'm taking it to the shop on Wednesday. Thanks in advance |
Could this be the caused by a bad tie rod assembly?
