'00 clk430 or '02 clk430 same miles
I am looking for a used convertible and came across two cars from different dealers.
One is a 2000 CLK430 with 43k miles while the other one is a 2002 CLK430 with roughly the same 43k miles. They are both asking for same price (different of around $100.00).
So I guess my question is which one to get. They both look great!
As an aside, should I get a car that old (being a Merc)? It might cost alot to maintain? Thanks

2002 clk430
I would roll with the 02 43k miles is good for that year even though its better on a 00 I might be biased but I like the styling difference of the 02. What are the different options between the two?

Is there visual difference between the 00 and 02? I couldn't tell. They both seem to have the amg body (twist side sill), 5 spoke amg rims and both have xenon. Black leather. The 00 is silver and the 02 is black.
Just to throw it out there since my wife is still flip-flopping. She threw out the idea of maybe just get the newer 06 Toyota Solara convertible since the price is compatible. Dunno!?

The '02 has the AMG Monoblock II rims. Also, as many people on this forum mention, parts are upgraded throughout the production life of cars so a '02 would be more reliable than a '00.....a.k.a. CPS sensor, transmission software....etc.

both are low mileage cars, i do a car fax and see which was taken care of / pampered more than the other, do a Pre-Purchase Inspection for both and then decide...

what options do the two have mercedes are all about the upgrades. that is why i got my 2000 and not the 2003. as mine came FULLY loaded every option in the book. thats what will make the price diff.

I'd say go for the 02. Hopefully any bugs from the 00 model year would be worked out by the time 02 cars were produced. At least that's my opinion. Either way, make sure you work that top at least 10 times (at different times if you're out on a test drive) before buying.
