How's my front bumper splitter keep getting ripped out

About a month ago I was backing out of a parking spot and heard a loud pop from my front bumper. Took a look at it and the bumper splitter is laying on the parking lot. So I grabbed it and brought it home with me. It looked like it just popped back into place. I went ahead and popped it into place and attached a couple zipties to the predrilled tabs.

A couple weeks later, even a louder pop when I was backing out of a parking spot. At this point I already realize I should not pull in so far into the parking spot where the front bumper comes into contact with the parking curb. But this hasn't happened to me in the 8 years that I have been driving this car and it's stock height.

This time it ripped a zip tie on one side and broke a tab on the other. How is it that the bumper splitter is getting ripped out? I understand that the front bumper would likely bend upwards if it got caught on something, but it seems like it would not effect the bumper splitter in center of the bumper opening to the point where it is snapping my zip ties and braking tabs off of the insert. Now it looks like there is too much damage to the bumper to secure the splitter back on.

Same here a few times until I looked one day and . . . it was gone. It's $170 (unpainted) at the dealer. My dealer actually had it in stock. I might be mistaken but I think they called it a lower diffuser.
