Help.. Engine won't start, no malfunction reported
Hi Guys, need help pls... the beast had been running fine for the past 4 months since I bought. After a nice polish yesterday, I was looking forward to taking it for a drive today. Sadly, it won't start up today. The starter motor is going but the engine just won't turn over. The battery seems fine too and there's no malfunction reported on the dashboard display. All the fuses appeared to be okay too.
Does anyone know what the problem could be? Could it be the fuel pump or something more sinister?
Many thanks in advance...

Do you usually have these problems after the car has warmed up? If so then it's the Crankshaft Position Sensor. It's easy to replace! Just do a search and there's a write up about it.

No, it's the first time I've encountered this problem. The car was running fine yesterday and today it never got started.

I would still check the CPS. It's a common problem. I believe when mine first started having problems, it did it while the engine was cold, then as time went by it got worse.

Seeing that I won't get a chance to take the car to have it looked at for another two days, I thought I'd try to start it again when I got home today and much to my delight and disbelief, the engine came to life and sounded every bit like how it should. Now, I'm totally confused. I'm delighted that it started up fine but I don't know when it will fail again and if it does, it will be probably occur at the wrong place and time. Hmm.. I think I will still take it in to the stealership to have it examined.

I'm still pretty sure it's the CPS! Sometimes it's fine and sometimes its not! It only gets worse with time though. Should only take the steakership an hour to replace.

Well, I've just returned from picking the beast up. The head mechanic said it was most likely due to a faulty CPS or rather on its way out. Missinlinc, you were right on the money! The car now starts up almost instantaneously, much quick than before. I'm hoping that the problem will never resurface again.
Thanks to all those who responded to my SOS call.
