No RR Fog light/socket

2001 CLK430 Cab.
No RR Fog light/socket
I've had my 2001 CLK 430 Cab for about 5 months now. The other day I got a warning on the dash telling me I had a light malfunction so I checked. he only thing I could find was the RR fog light was out. The left one worked fine. I removed the trunk liner to get inside and guess what - there is NO socket or light bulb there. There is one on the left side. I guess it's off to the dealers. I don't know why the malfunction light just came on for the first time? Any suggestions?

My car does this too every now and again. The dealer changed my rear brake lights and the next day the light malfunction light came on again. It doesn't happen all the time and all my lights work fine. The dealer told me I need to drive it in while the warning is still on. Needless to say it hasn't happened since. Weird or what?

I had a RR fog light ( including the lens ) installed and it cost me about 25 bucks
It looks better when i switch them off ( ONLY WHEN FOGGY ) i hate it when people switch them on for no reason

I had this happen once. The light would come on when I would step on the brakes yet every light seemed to be wotking fine. When I took out the brake light bulbs though for inspection, I could see that one was on the verge of burning out (filament was thin and brittle looking and glass was starting to discolor). I replaced that one and the malfunction light stopped coming on. Weird.... If you don't see any bulbs out, try to isolate exactly what you're doing when the malfunction light comes on, and then inspect the corresponding bulbs. Hope this helps.
