99 clk rear shade also read headrest

When I try to lower my shade, around the last 8 inches or so, the screen folds up and will not go in the slot. Are there any adjustments to the shade?

Yesterday I found all the window/sunroof resets and A/C diagnostics - that was time well spent on MBWORLD. good job.

I also have passenger rear headrest will not go down. I've searched the site and found info for the cabrio roll bar/headrest problem when hitting bumps and needing manual lowering. Can you manually lower the coupe headrest, i looked into the gap by the headrest and couldn't see anyting.

Final problem, my A/C blows cold when moving, and warm when stopped, there's also a loud ticking under the hood with A/C on. I keep getting conflicting information from people looking at it. Any know problems in this area A/C cluch etc. i read one post that said his was a "chip under the steering wheel"? There is no mercedes shop within 100 miles of me.

Finally (again) I'm trying the headlight cleaner (CV was the only thing available locally and immediately) with before and after photos, i'll post them when i get finished - hopefully i'll like the result.

Brian, if you follow the directions on the CV, you should have no problem. Remember the cloudy look will remain until the very last step. I've added the Rikensport xenons to my CLK because of the clarity of the lenses. I'm going to post some pic too.

Good luck.

I've had the warm A/C symptom at a stop with other cars. What it sounds like is the electric fans in front of the condenser (in front of the radiator) may not be coming on.

For the A/C to function properly air needs to flow through for it to exchange the warm R134a that has picked up heat from cooling the passenger compartment air. Without air movement, it doesn't function very well, which is why the fans are necessary. It could be a relay that has failed or the electric fan itself.

Although the V8 CLK's use two of them it is likely a relay doesn't work properly any more.

i'll check that out, oddly enough, now the horn blows all the damn time, had to disconnect that, i'm going to check that for a stuck relay as well.

2005 E500
I just bought a 2005 E500 and can't get the rear-window screen to go down. It came up nicely but it stays up and nothing happens when I press the same button to make it fold back down.

Also what did you use to clean the headlight lenses. Mine are somewhat cloudy. Thanks.
