Car won't start!
 

I have a 98 CLK320. This morning when I tried to start the car, it didn't even crank. Tried it 3 or 4 times then finally it cranked then started. Any ideas on what might be wrong. Hopefully, it's just a one time thing.

P.S. I checked the battery posts. They weren't corroded or loose.

Do the 98's have the smart key? Could be a possible culprit.

Trade it in for a new one...........

I believe there was a problem
 

... you really had to keep the key in the turned position for a few seconds and then it would crank. I seem to recall this from some posts a few years ago....
