How does red CLK W208 look to you in real person?

I have been searching for a CLK to buy. I found a person who sells a red CLK430 (2002), which the condition looks excellent. The picture was taken in the fog area, so I don't know how I would like the red color. Doesn't the color look like a Ferrari red color? If you have owned a red W208 CLK, how do you like it? Did you regret buying it?

From what I know, red is the rarest color of the W208s. That is why I am curious about this color.

It has light gray interior, but I wonder if there is a black interior with red paint exterior.

Yeah, it's a bright red.

Probably my favorite color on the 208.

3 kinds of red for 2002 MY

There are 3 kinds of red for 2002 model year.

(1) Magma Red - non metallic , paint code 586, bright red similar to Ferrari red
(2) Firemist Red - metallic, paint code 345, burgundy
(3) Bordeaux Red - metallic, paint code 567 darker burgundy, close to maroon

I like Bordeaux red the best. I found magma red in any MB resemble a taxi color, and being non-metallic paint, does not look as lust.

I have E320 in Bordeaux Red and it looks real classy. Traded it in for CLK430 cabriolet, Firemist Red in color. The lighter burgundy gives the cabrio a sportier look.

I still like the Bordeau Red but haven't seen a cabrio in that color on the road yet.

Any Mercedes looks great in silver or black, but those color being too common, for uniquness, you will not regard to have a rare color like red or even dark green.

Attached is the Firemist Red cabrio...

The photo is from MB's 2002 sales package and it looks Firemist to me. Magma Red has a certain orange tint.

Here are samples of each color for comparsion.

Leftmost is the Magma Red
Middle is the Firemist Red
Rightmost is the Bordeaux Red

As mentioned, Firemist and Bordeaux are very close, darker tone for Bordeaux

OK,

but having owned a half dozen or more magmas, and 2 firemist, just keep in mind that the firemist photographs much darker. No matter, they're all good, and both require a special person to own. The resale ain't too hot with either, but I like them.

That pic is definitely magma.

Probably just the lighting makes it look darker.

No problem. Could be the light or the color calibration of my LCD make me believe it a different color than Magma Red. :)

I have a 320 in magma with black interior and black roof. When I first saw the car I wondered if it was too big to be in red. But I love the color combo and have been surprised by how many people (strangers) comment how great it looks.

For sure this is Magma, this is the (non-metallic) color, I have a CLK 200 1999 model in this color
