Does anyone know if its true that if you disconnect the battery for 30mins + and the re-connect obviously following the reset procedure, that it will clear any fault codes on the car?

Good question: You can erase the codes is you have an OBDII port and scanner. Do you have those in Europa?

yeah I bought one of Ebay, havnt had time to try it , as I have have had to also buy a round pin adaptor to the rectangle obd 2. Also mines fitted in the engine not as you guys have inside the car in the US.

I got an engine diagnostic done yesterday for a MAF and there were old codes from the rear lights that must have been on there for years, so in answer to whether the codes get erased on disconnectin the battery, I think it deletes some but not all. The ECU had a non-volatile memory I think and so stay in the system.

I think it clears the codes but doesn't reset the CEL, that has to be done with the OBDII.
