I used to have a 1990 Beetle in Mexico (just like the original one from the 60s but a little more modern), I got it a few times to 100 mph , that wasn't very pleasant.

180 mph in a Mondial on the street. Got stopped with a roadblock, ticket read "well in excess of 140mph". I think that's cause that was he was doing as I was pulling away from him.

Were you going down hill in a hurricane? Stock Mondial never went over 155-160 max. Even getting a modified one to go another 20-30MPH would be an increadible feat.

I personally think Mondial is the ugliest of Ferraris that should've never been made. 308 GTS and 208 GTB were both better looking. 1984 288 GTO was the best of all Ferraris.

no doubt the mondial isn't the best looking ferrari, but at least, during those years, they were on a progressive trend where each new car was a step up in design cues...

unlike this year with that ENZO thing... granted, its an awesome performer.. but they needa take some lessons from Porsche with their GT where no styling was sacrificed for performance...

i wasnt driving ( god forbid i ever do ) but we clocked 347 km/h in a TECHART PORSCHE 996TT.

i dont plan to do it again ever in my life ! Besides, the driver wasnt very happy with the mess i made on his leather seat!

This was my girlfriend's father's car. My understanding was that it was a Hennessey modified car. There was Hennessey badging throughout, but she couldn't tell me much about it, and I never actually met her father. At 180, it had plenty left. I had spent the night dusting off Mustang Cobras (and other heavily mod'd stuff that came around) from standing starts. This thing was a beast but to this day I have never seen nor heard of any other Hennessey modified Mondials.

This was NOT a police chase. I was cruising about 120 - 130 in 4th and a car started closing in behind me. Before he got too close, I shifted into 5th and picked it up a bit. Apparently, the car was a cop that I met later that night. He never lit me up. Had he done so, I probably would have stopped. I was a lot younger then...yeah... I think I would have stopped.

Yes, it was a 1994 Twin Turbo hardtop, which was converted to Single Turbo and I added HKS Cams.

i HAD a CLK320 with a 55 badge. Sold to a very decent gentleman who refuses to debadge it. He says its the closest thing he's seen to the real deal. :p

An E39 has entered my life now, and i'm having one heck of an oil burning affair at the moment! :o

Mods are on there way, the only delay was the fact that i had entered into a group buy for DINAN CIA, flo meters and CHIP but they came back and said to wait till november without a guarantee of the percentage discounts. So i went a head and spent my life savings on the parts.

They should be on their way any day now. Its a DIY and my car is at home without an ECU! bugger!

No prob buddy... sometimes, we all can't be as fortunate as others to get new or different cars all the time, so, its nice to sometimes live through the eyes of others...

I don't think you have to get your ECU modded to hit 140 in a CLK320. I know the speed is limited by the chip but like I said I hit 130 and it felt like I was doing 75 and I only slowed down because I was approaching too many cars.
