Window Tinting
Anyone have any suggestions for quality window tinting? What name brands are recommended? What shading looks best for brilliant silver, ash interior? Any recommended shops in the NY/Long Island area?

I just got pulled over 2 days ago just for the tinted window, pretty gay, I had it for 2 years first time got pulled over for that . . . If you want, get the darkest tint, either way is illegal, why not go for the best looking one

I just got my windows tinted and I am in the NY area too. Here are some guys that can help you.
1) Ecliptic Tinting--- Tommy @ 917-407-7356 (Queens)
2) NY Tinter--- Tommy Kovach @ 347-581-TINT (Brooklyn)
3) CJ Window Tinting--- Chris Tarantino @ 631-375-1332 (Long Island)
I got mine done at Ecliptic and they are awesome.

I dont trust queens
All the shops in Queens are ghetto. I go to the one Mercedes Banz Manhattan recommends. They are right across the dealer on 47th and 11th ave called Teknicar. They do all sorts of work for Mercedes. They are expensive but they do a good job. Id rather have a peace of mind than pay less and get a crap job done.

There's a great shop in LA that won't charge more than $200, and they're one of the few places that carries Madico tints- Onyx looks awesome on CLKs, especially 430s and 55s with the blue glass.
I've got 5% onyx all around, only 1 ticket in 6 months. Had 35% all around before, but didn't like getting looked at.

i just got my first ticket for tints as well.. i was not as mad although my precentages are only 20 and 35 (front) but i was stopped for speeding (79 on 55) so i was relived with just the ticket for the tint and no speeding ticket.. very relieved

The shop that does my tint is called Solar Eclipse Window Tinting, it's at 5309 Etiwanda Ave., Tarzana, CA 91356 (open Mon-Sat, 8am-6:30pm). They do a really good job, and they're very efficient and affordable. Best tint shop I've used.
The only other shop I know that uses Madico is called "The Tint Factory" on La Cienega near Venice, but they charge more and take too long.
