2000 clk430 - HELP! Floored gas pedal to bottom now check engine light on

Hi im a newby here- I love my 2000 clk430 - I was driving thinking geez this car runs so strong 173000 miles on it- made a stop and then went to enter freeay and It came to mind that the person i bought it from told me there is some type of Turbo if when you press gas pedal if you tap it down to the Bottom it kicks into a turbo like mode-
ALL IT DID IS MAKE MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT go on! And now feels like misfiring- (like its running on 7 cylindars) i pulled over turned it off tried to reset the throttle (by turning key to number 2 position and pressing down to button held for 15 seconds held down while turned off then released waited 3 minutes heard click then started)
My car is still running like crap and sputtering!
Help Please!!!

There are no turbos in CLK430's unless some one added one.
So how high did the engine rev up to on the tachometer? Could have bent a valve or 2.

You will need to get it scanned. I am guessing you are not very DIY at this point. Maybe you should find a good indy and ask for some advice. Also they will have a scanner, hopefully DAS or the like, and can get the codes.

Get the codes...but I will guess that it's a bad MAF or vacuum leak...post Indy codes before you fix (bad MAF is usually an O2 bad code).

By pressing the gas to the floor just kicks the transmission down and thereby revs the engine at higher RPMs....no turbo!

It could be the kick down switch too among many other things thus the suggestion of a scan.

The W208 (A208 for the cabriolet) was in production for 6 years.....has been very bullet proof, so.......just about about anything that breaks, has already been discussed.

You seem to have ignored the best suggestions (e.g. post #2 from Marcus, #5 from burgca and #9 from cindyclk ).

Dollars to doughnuts, from your symptoms above, you have OBDII stored fault codes (e.g. emission related0, which can be read at most auto supply stores, at no change.

Not only have you chosen to ignore our best of the veteran contributors, but it also seems that you didn't care enough to complete your profile (e.g. many specifics such as MY, country matter), perform a forum search, prior to asking your current and subsequent problems you're encountering.

PS: your power roof issue, will require a read out the diagnostic fault codes, from the MB SDS software diagnostic software body codes, likely followed by additionally troubleshooting (READ: $$$).

I bet it's your MAF. A similar thing happened to me a few months ago...

Go to O'reilys or Autozone and ask them to pull your codes. It's free and will tell you what's wrong with your car.
