Aftermarket engine mounts?

I am wondering if this is a bad idea, buying non-OEM engine mounts from eBay or Amazon. I have the 5.5 so the engine is heavier with lots of torque. Anyone install them and have a few years on them? Results? Any aftermarket brands better than others? Any to avoid?

I would recommend you purchase from Pelican Parts, you will have a selection of OE, and OEM mounts. I bought the W209 mounts that fit from Autohaus AZ.

Brand? How long have you had them in? Are they holding up?

Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, BMW, MINI and more!
I'd stick with Genuine or OEM supplier for mounts.

Lemforder is the OEM supplier and is a sufficient replacement. Let me know if you have any questions.

Are you sure your engine is heavier?

I would not buy off brand crap. engine mounts are 60-70 a piece at pelicanparts

The 5.5 is the biggest engine so of course it's going to be somewhat heavier than the 4.3 or 3.2

Regarding aftermarket engine mounts I was actually referring to the Lemforder brand. I was not meaning no name junk from China. Up here in Canada the engine mounts are $197 each at MB so I have ordered both engine mounts and the transmission mount as a kit from the USA. It will cost me about $240 for all three mounts once I get it landed here in Canada.

I dont see a reason for a 5.4 to weight much more. If it does it'll be minimal.

Compared to a m112 yea but any other m113 the difference will be minimal.

the 4.2 weights 206kg. Im struggling to find anything about a 5.4.

I use stock mounts on my car still after i did my 5.4 swap. No issues

W208 430 and 55 mounts are the same part and Lemforder is the OE manufacturer.

I replaced my motor and transmission mounts using Lemforder parts years ago and they'veheld up fine. Your prices are a lot higher than I pay in SoCal. Motor mounts are$70 per side and the transmission mount is about $25.

I hope that helps.

Marcus. Yes in Canada whatever prices you guys are paying on the websites we have to pay double or sometimes triple. It's just awful. Also the shipping companies rape us for Duty charges. Anyway I ordered the Lemforder mounts as a set from Amazon for $147 usd so it won't be bad with conversion maybe $225 cdn for all three mounts.
