Esoin,
The Conti's are excellent in the dry but are el-sucko in the rain.

I have Michelin Pilot Sports on my CLK430, and they are excellent in the rain (I live in South Florida and see my share of the wet).

I hear good things from my friends about Bridgestone S-02s and S-03s, although I have never personally used either. The S-02s are discontinued, so you may have a hard time finding them.

If tread wear is an issue, I think the Michelin's may have a slight edge, but I'm not sure about that. They both cost about the same, but you may be able to find a good deal if you look around.

Michelin Sports are excellent rain tires; even better than the new Bridgestone S03. However, the S03 is an awesome dry tire.

I had the Pilot Sports and they were very good in rain. I now have the P Zero Rossi's and I think they are better in rain but a little noisier.

sweeet... thanks for the recommendations...

How long can I expect the Michelin Sports to last me? (miles?)

O-Dawg 11-13-2001 01:44 PM

I'm still on my first set of Pilot Sports. I had to replace the OEM Pilot SXs at 12000 miles, and Sports are supposed to wear quicker than SXs. I expect the Sports to wear to about 10K miles, although I've had them for about 6k and they still look good to me.

I drive hard, but I've raised my tire pressure to 36 to compensate for the treadwear. The fronts go first because of cornering, I have 10,000 miles on my fronts, and probably another 1,000 miles of tread.
