my06 gave new taillights,engine(350) and such, why would they put out a whole new model already...if this is true i am seriously going to be upset... this is such a fresh and new design why would they need to change it, let them change the w203 first

CLK55 AMG 2006 Cabrio, BMW M3 2008 DTC Cab new (M3 e46 SMG 2003 Cabrio Sold), BMW X5 tt Diesel 2008
Hi RJC,

I have also put a new M3 V8 SMG on order but a convertible. Had a M6 Convertible on order first but after owning the current M3 I like the size better.

The new CLK55 AMG Convertible is arriving in about 3 weeks and the new M3 V8 convertible is not due here ubtil Sept 07, so the time frame is not to bad.

The W203 changes as well.

The new CLK will be a very, very nice looking car if the images that have been floating around are anything like the finished product.

Enjoy your car and don't worry about the new one...it's still almost a year away.

I agree, the new 6 especially in the convt is just too big looking and I like the lines of the coupe much better.

I am worried about the new MMM being a first year production car...we'll see.

Hi JRC,

Rummers around is that MB are going to non SC motors hence the 6.3 motor, following MBW who have not used SC's on their motors. With fuel prices the way they are I think you will see a major leap in engine design in the next 2 years.

The BMW M6 V10 motor has won some awards for design, the V8 Ferrari is only around 4Ltr and produces plently of HP, the Maserati has the Ferrari V8 with lightened cranksharft in it. So there is not really any need to SC.

The new CLK 2007/2008 looks pretty good from those pictures, I have been told that the new CLK is going to get a more agressive look, bigger wheel arches etc to bring it in line with other newer MB models that have been released, so it should get a pretty goog work over.

Hi RJC,

I think BMW will have to push the 2 door Coupe and the Convertible M3 V8 to 400HP to keep up with everybody else. Like the M6 needs to be 500HP otherwise people will buy something else.

You know the agreement between MB, BMW & Audi speed limiting cars to 250Km is now at a end.

Hi RJC,

Forgot, for me, the current new CLK55 AMG, I have had to buy a few ad on's to push it over 400Hp, upgraded exhaust, green air filters, upgraded ECU, Brabus lowering springs, Brabus LSD 40%, Ceramic brakes and waiting on light weight rotors, 19" wheels, 98 octane fuel.

The new CLK55 (or 63) Amg 2007/2008 would want to be over 400HP & 200 lbs lighter and not have to go out spend another $10k. I think people will not buy the new CLK unless it not only looks good but actually does sub 5 seconds (4.7 to 4.9).

Mercedes all the way!
hi, anyone got pics of the new CLK? i'm interested to see how it looks. the current one is really beautiful, really elegant - but so was the W220, and now i'm looking forward to the W221.

very likely to be NA - interestingly, now it's BMW who wants to do SC. apparently can't fit a big enough engine within the bay without it. well well, how times change...

CLK 500 Convertible
The other day i've checked on jesmb and there it says that new clk model 207 will come out in may, but not in 07 but 09. Most of the time they are right with what they say.

Volkswagen Golf
Question

It seems that every mag has their own "source" or "guess". Intro in 07' as an 08' or intro in 08' as an 09', their both are possible and make sense. The W208 only lasted 5 years...so could the W209! Although the current W209 was released with the W211 E-class, therefore I think MB will probably stick with that pattern! If a coupe based off the W204 C-class debuts at about the same time it'll be the all new CLE, which is still a blur!
