2004 CLK 500 Actual Gas Mileage?
Hi,
I'm thinking of buying a used CLK500. 2003 or 2004.
Can you kindly share what kind of mileage you actually get?
I heard from one owner that on full tank (14gallons) he gets 220 miles. 15.7 miles/gallon.
That sounds so scary.
Is that true?

2004 Silver CLK500
Not true..
To make you feel better, this number is definitely wrong.
During the regular city driving (25% highway), I get almost 470 km (292 miles) from the full tank of gas. Since the full tank is 62 litres(16.4 gallons), the average mileage comes to around 18 mpg.
During highway driving, I have seen the car getting almost 600 km (373 miles) out of a single tank of gas. That comes to around 22.75 mpg.
I suspect your friend has a very very heavy foot that might be contributing to this poor gas mileage.
Cheers,
Zee

Mercedes
1. don't buy a mercedes if you're going to complain about gas prices. get yourself a honda.
2. in my experience, dont buy a used mercedes. its going to be costly to maintain. again get yourself a new honda.
3. your friend is right. i have a 2003 CLK500, thats with the 5 speed trans, and i get around that mileage and down to 12 when its real city driving in chicago, not the suburbs. that means stops signs and one lane streets that are always bumper to bumper. in the suburbs i get around 16 mpg through "normal" driving and 17-18 if i make sure to not have a heavy foot and start coasting to stoplights early. on the expressway driving at about 80-85 mph i get 21 mpg.

S550
ive been driving an s500 the past couple of days... city driving is a disgusting 11mpg but when you hit the highway it jumps to abou 19 or 20 mpg ( over a 10 mile drive i have to commute to work i am guessing the longer the drive the more mpg)
