Cross-drilled roters for CLK500
Any suggestions on what to use with OEM calipers? Need to be anti-rust, cross-drilled (simply like the aesthetics), and maximum diameter for 19" wheels but still fit with the OEM calipers.
I am looking for actual part numbers and sources to purchase based on actual experiences.......... |
Stop Tech sells replacement rotors to fit the OEM calipers if I recall correctly
Thanks, but on Stop Tech's website, they state they do not have anything for the CLK500 in terms of direct rotor replacement........
I don't think you can go with bigger rotors and still use the same calipers. Also, I dont think anti-rust is much of an issue, because once you step on the brakes one time it clears the rust off the rotors.
I was actually looking at maintaining within 5% of radius, but am okay with the OEM sizes as well. Actually, I was more concerned with the hub rusting as well as the inner disc "blades".

Mercedes has a SPORT 209 option on the 2007 clk that uses a crossdrilled rotor
That may work for you...otherwise you MUST replace the calipers to use a Larger dia brake rotor... As for rust try Cad plate...Most Chrome shops will do cad plate work..and can be done in silver or gold. it works great as the stock/factory paint will NOT provide any help re rust on the hubs. I Did a set on my car aprox four years ago..still looks great! |
First quote from stealership was $220CAD per front rotor plus tax (14% here)...for the CLK550 x-drilled rotors....anyother manufacturers that make an applicable rotor (are the 04 rotors the same as the E500 and C32??)?
Got some Zimmerman's ordered........will see and post when they are swapped in early spring.........
Are there Zimmermann cross-drilled rotors for the rear brakes on a W209? Where can I find them?
I ordered them from eliteparts in Toronto.....they are being cadmium coated as well.......I'll shoot some pics when they come in ( a couple weeks )
How much did you get them for?
Use the C-230 W203..it will fit...i already used it..but i changed it to brembo already.. i bought it around 300...i forgot though..
Received them in today....look really good......will be installing in a few weeks.
All together (including taxes and cadmium coating) was about $750CAD for all 4......
Anybody try these?
I was reading through the E-Class forum and some guy had Irotors on his E500. He said they work good and price is great.Go there and read up on them and he also has a link to the e-bay store.I'm thinking of getting them myself for my clk500.

Does front drilled rotors from CLK550 will fit stock calipers CLK500 ?
Yes, the brakes are the same on both cars. Make sure you don't sport suspension option - if you do, then that has a different rotor (which is the same on both the CLK500 and CLK550 with sport package).
Actually i don't know if i have have sport package. How could i check it what part do i need?
I thought that the CLK500's shared the same rotor size with the CLK55, just the 55 had drilled rotors instead of solid? (my CLK500 has 4 piston calipers)

I decoded VIN and i see only
772 AMG STYLING PACKAGE-FRONT SPOILER, SIDE SKIRT Does it mean sport or its only body kit? |
Nope, that's not the sport suspension package - that's the "AMG sport appearance package", which is standard on all V8 W209s. The sport suspension package is 952, but in looking at this again, I noticed that the front brake rotor for 952 is the same as 494 (which is the California edition). I think the rotors are the same regardless. The "stock" part is A2094210012. California and sport rotors are A2034210912. I know the California brakes are the exact same size as stock, I think hey just use a different material to be compatible with California's DOT laws.

I have not heard of "sport suspension" package on an Clk500. I've heard of "sport suspension" on the clk350 model. |
