clk500
tight steering wheel
does anyone think the steering is tight on the clk500? my suburban is easy to maneuver as a hot knive through butter, but the clk needs some muscle to get into a parking spot. any ideas?

No it shouldnt be that way... Even with bigger rims on and if its lowered... It may get a tiny bit heavier but it shouldnt be to the point where ur slightly struggling... Remeber its a benz... Something is most likely not running at full capacity get it checked out if its still udner warranty! good luck...

Yes it is tight, as a sports car should be. I also have an 08' Escalade, which is butter, you are comparing apples and oranges my friend.

LOL, so what are you saying? A 382hp/391tq CLK550, w/ 18" 35 profile tires, 7 speed auto, 14" 4 piston vented brakes, lowered & MB sport tuned suspension & AMG appearance package, etc., etc. isn't considered a sports car, bacause it isn't an AMG? The term "sports car", is well surpassed by the 550!

2003 Clk 500
I also have a CLK 500 and my car does not have any problem steering moving or stand still. It is cold up here right now so when I turn I can here the tires on the pavement if I am not moving, but it is not hard to turn the wheel. Check your power steering fluid. How many miles does your car have on it?

CLK's have weak power steering pumps and the rack and pinion ain't the strongest in the market (had it replaced twice due to drifting). If you feel its tougher to turn than normal or its making a weird soung, take it to the dealer. And CLK's are not sports cars, whether its a 320 or a 63. They are sport coupes. The Lotus Elise, Corvette, Viper, Miata, etc are sports cars. Be happy with what you have.
