Renntech Air Box

Been a while since i posted on here. just to let you guys know wot i have done the past few weeks after the deleting of my resonators, I have ordered a renntech carbon fiber air box and i'm going to put my greens filters in there as well as the thermotec heat shield on the bottom of the box and maybe the tubes. My car is in the shop right now getting the evo sport underdrive pullies installed. I'm trying to close this deal with this guy for his his 19in sevas s stars staggered 19x8.5 F, 19x9.5 R. Let me know wot u guys think about the sevas on the 209's. ALso if anyone interested i have the amg air box, tubes, and bottom half cover for $450

i also have a CLK 500 like yours, does the AMG air box just slip in place of the standard factory one?

If it does, and you can put up a few pics i'll move on this today.

the renntech air box is not for sale i just found one after searching for a while. It should be here on monday or tuesday of next week. the renntech airbox is carbon fiber and renntech states gains of 20 hp, but most say from 10hp to 15hp. amg airbox has gains of 5 hp as stated by other members. the amg air box just slips right on. the amg air box includes 2 k&n filters for a lil more hp and mpg boost. the renntech im going to put in my greens filters.

I have the Renntech airbox and there is a slight improvement in the pull. It's subtle, not a huge difference in performance. The tech sheet says 10HP, but that's at the crank.

Cost wise I think the CF Airbox is around $1k depending where you look. It's not a moving part so the wear and tear is pretty non existant and if you find someone willing to sell it, they usually ask for near NIB prices.

Installs the same as your regular airbox.

The main difference is when you open up the airboxes, the Renntech box is hollow; where as the MB box have baffles to direct airflow. Without the baffles, the box is able to have less restricted airflow and greater volume of it.

Has anyone tried to modify their factory airbox, by removing the baffles? I haven't had a chance to look at mine yet, but wouldn't this assist in maximizing the airflow like the Renntech box?
