CLK 350 Armrest/Console Devider question

Hey guys,

I own a CLK 350 06 and i'm curious to find if there is anyway to cahnge the arm rest? I guess i picked the wrong package because my arm rest doesnt cup with cup holders! It doesnt slide out like some of the 06 models. Its just a cover.

Any ideas if i can get a part somewhere and replace it?

I want cup holders too!!

Make friends with your parts guy! He (or she) can get you anything you want, and NO you don't have to have your VIN to do it.

My 2006 is confused too: I have armrest B with the two cupholders as well as the cupholder in the dash. I guess that later on the dash cupholder was changed to a sunglass holder. I haven't ever had a need for three cup holders at once.

I was looking in to the same change for my 2003 CLK 320. The only problem is my version has the buster blower motor for the rear ventilation inside taking up most of the room. I would have to eliminate it. I do not care about additional ventilation in the back but I'm also not sure if there will be any problems or error messages when I remove it. I guess there is one way to find out Will try to disconnect the blower over the weekend. I will also check with my Mercedes certified mechanic if he has any idea about the armrest replacement and if it will fit and the cost.

from what i can see, the curtain porbbaly is inside the blower. me too having same qustion like u. but i guess, it should be designed in the way that when curtain open up, it drwan back and block the blower. but it should cleared when u closed up the curtain again.

i still waiting my part, it should reach me in a week time with regatrdless it can be fitted or not.

I have B.....but I prefer A.....
I think the cup holder is useless......
if i put a drink in the cup holder....i can not put my arm at the arm rest....
So I only put my cell phone in the cup holder....

Hi, mikare,

so u have design B, how does the rear air con vent then? is it still working?

when u open up the curtain, would the air con vent be blocked?

From what I understand the large blower motor is only in the early models and it was redesigned in the later models. I have a 2003 CLK320, in the 2004 that I have seen, the blower was not in the same location and there was a whole use of the storage area where in 2003 the storage is mostly taken up by the blower. Changing the armrests will not eliminate that issue and you will have to do something about the blower.

Sorry to bring back this thread from the dead but i've been back to research on my cup holder issue. What i've understood and what the dealer told me is that i have to replace the whole console however i do not think that is true since they are pretty much identical. Maybe im wrong?

Any thoughts

I was thinking about doing this but then decided its not worth it. The location of the cup holders would be in a way and a bit awkward as I use the armrest all the time. Just stick to the one cub holder you do have or use the passenger to hold the cups There are also cup holder in the rear armrest (I think).

I hear you, the problem with the rear cup holders is that the passenger tends to always reach in the back and somehow manage to spill it or it spills on its own in the back. I hate it when that happens and i'm trying to find ways to avoid. I've been looking at epc but i cant seem to figure out what exactly i need and whether the part will match.

Anybody has any info on this?? I know a few people wanted to do it but im just trying to see if any one did it.

I guess you could locate a newer model at a dealer and take it for a test drive. Pull in to some parking lot and measure away, check the lock, connection method etc.
