i think i Run the widest tire up front on the W209 CLK, as least on this forum.

I have 255/40/17 all around. and the front rubs. not to bad but it rubs.

maybe if I took the front fender liners out i could run a 265 but i don't think it's worth it.

Most of our customers run 235/35/19 on the front, even 245 would rub depending on the size of the wheel and height.

it would be nice to see 285 on the front, and 325 on the back!

You also need to check that a tyre that wide doesn't rub on the inside and not just the arches/ liners.

235 tyres on a 19" rim with a 35 offset sits mighty close as it is!

Play it safe, bud.

some tires have diffrent profiles...ie. some have a more squared off at the edges while others have a rounded edge...which plays an important role in fitment aswell.

Rolled or square, a 285? Maybe with a body lift and 2" spacers. I run a 235/35 with a 32et wheel and it is just #### hair from the strut. Mike

Indeed, after we threw them on, i drove it for a week and then threw it up on my buddies lift, other than the fender liners, it doens't rub the strut or anything.

Wow.

You're doing well considering you're running 255's!

Well done for taking the time to check after a short period, too.

Alot of folk just assume all is well.
